Softwiring, modular wiring, or “plug and play" wiring enables the easy use and re-use of electrical wiring components when installing or re-configuring commercial office workstations without the waste associated with hard wiring.

This not only saves time and increases productivity during on-site installation, but also gives the designer maximum flexibility for future expansion.

Softwiring is the "plug and play" alternative to electricians pulling cables through workstations and hard terminating. It is the medium by which a client’s workstation electrical system can be easily reconfigured to cater for frequent moves and changes.

Commercial fitouts demand reliable, uncompromised and flexible electrical outlets and cabling which is why a modular wiring system, capable of distributing 20A across a wiring backbone to suit high traffic conditions with heavy usage, is vital.

Softwiring normally commences from an underfloor or in ceiling starter socket, or mounted on a standard wall plate.
