Henderson Police Station is challenging perceptions of police station design with two newly refurbished spaces within their West Auckland facility. Designed by GHDWoodhead Creative Spaces, these spaces reflect a modern image of law enforcement with interiors that incorporate the latest in flexible working styles and technology.
Vidak delivered settings to support a variety of workstyles, enabling users to work how and where they want according to the task at hand.
Whangaia Nga Pa Harakeke (WNPH) is a shared space between police, local iwi and other organisations. This open plan, collaborative environment enables maximum flexibility to help these groups to work efficiently. Trestle Leaners and Pitch whiteboards allow users to sit or stand for informal meetings or brainstorming sessions. Task work areas feature sit-to-stand Engage Rise workstations with accessories like the dynamic Dragonfly monitor arms and Divide Screens.
The staff cafeteria was designed as a ‘hub’ - an inviting space with a variety of seating options for all staff to come together to meet, learn and connect. Semi-enclosed Huddle booths provide a degree of visual and acoustic privacy for informal team meetings or breakouts. A variety of seating options, tables and leaners create a comfortable and welcoming social space, which can also be used for work away from the desk.
Timber accents and rich, bold colours add to the sense of vibrancy and warmth in the space. The result is a highly-connected, productive space which is also warm and inviting to the community.
