Environmental impact
Vidak has worked with the offshore supply chain to reduce and in some cases remove plastics from packaging and shipping. The environmental impact in New Zealand and globally has been reduced through this initiative.
Environmentally-friendly alternatives
Vidak was one of the first companies in New Zealand to be certified against the Environment Management System: ISO 14001:2015. This certification ensures that Vidak measures and achieves an annual reduction in waste and energy.
Globally and throughout NZ
Vidak was awarded the 2011 ECNZ Innovator of the Year award for work conducted around removing toxic and harmful chemicals from the supply chain. Whole-of-life cost – sustainable procurement Vidak strongly believes in complete lifecycle design – cradle to cradle1. Fundamental design principles include the ability to: reuse, repurpose or recycle product. Innovative smart design allows Vidak product to be modular and also be reconfigured in changing future environments. Quality design ensures the product will last. This has been realised in take-back schemes where used furniture has been refurbished and reused elsewhere. This helps drive sustainable procurement practices where the constant demand for new components is reduced.
