Continuing our successful supplier relationship since 2012, Vidak helped NZ Post consolidate 350 staff from the multi-tower NZ Post House in Wellington onto a single floor in a refreshed, flexible environment.
Key to this project was the re-use and refurbishment of existing workstations and the supply of new collaborative furniture delivered over four stages within a four-week timeframe.
Through an extensive planning process, Vidak was able to refurbish more than 350 (largely fixed-height) workstation worktops and screens. These were cut down from 1800 to 1500mm and 10% were converted to sit-to-stand Engage Rise desks for added flexibility and comfort. This resulted in both cost- and space-saving for NZ Post, while also sustainably reusing materials and reducing waste. A number of new Engage Touchdown settings were also incorporated.
Supporting collaboration and social interaction between staff was a key priority for NZ Post. A range of Urban Meeting Pods provide enclosed spaces for individual focus or small groups to collaborate. These acoustic pods provide privacy for users as well as reducing disturbances for those working in the vicinity. All pods were equipped with writable walls, integrated AV columns and conference tables to support visual display and virtual meeting solutions. The moveable pods provide NZ Post with a more flexible solution than traditional in-built meeting rooms.
Quiet spaces were furnished with new Retreat Focus Pods and existing Chat Chairs as enclaves for focused work within this open plan office.
A large social hub was developed at the centre of the space with a range of soft seating and café-style solutions to encourage social interaction and informal catch ups. Huddle Soft Seating provides comfortable, booth-style seating to encourage staff to relax and unwind. Trestle Leaners and Blade Tables offer variety.
Adjacent to social areas, project-style spaces are equipped with a range of accessories like Draw and Pitch mobile whiteboards, high back seating, tables, chairs and leaners, to allow for teams of various sizes to assemble and ideate.
