FMG is New Zealand's leading rural insurer. Their move to new premises in Wellington needed to give their employees a choice of different workspaces to cater for specific tasks such as collaborative and individual focussed work. Their journey took them to developing a flexible neighbourhood working model, with shared spaces for teams and communal areas for all. The design and layout, as well as the new flexible way of working, meant the furniture was a critical element for the workplace, which is situated in the new iconic Kumutoto Precinct at Wellington's Waterfront.
Vidak was engaged to provide all furniture elements for the fit out including meeting pods. These pods respond to the current market need for enclosed yet collaborative spaces within an open plan environment. Their multifunctional properties provide an area for individual headspace, collaborative meetings and also support more private interaction. Other key furniture pieces included collaboration settings integrated with share screen technology, sit to stand workstations all fitted with dynamic easy adjust monitor arms, touch down work points, meeting and breakout tables, leaners and chairs.
Supporting the clean desk and flexible strategy, Vidak provided the Vecos locker system enabling staff to pack up when they are out of the office. The locker management system allows FMG to better tailor personal storage space to the existing demand, and gives them control at their finger tips to monitor and manage the use.
